Please be sure we have your child's most current insurance information, including a copy of the insurance card, and review our Financial Policy.

Co-payments are required at the time of service. If your annual deductible hasn't been met, you may need to cover the full visit cost at the contracted rate.

For your convenience, we accept cash and major credit cards.

Please add your newborn to your insurance policy promptly after birth. While most insurance companies allow a 30-day grace period, some may deny claims if your newborn isn't enrolled in time.

After Hours Help

For urgent health concerns after hours, contact the physician on-call by calling (858) 484-4003. Our doctors handle calls 24/7 without an answering service. Use this service for urgent issues only. Routine, non-emergency questions should wait for regular office hours.
Our web site's Patient Education section can help answer common concerns. If you don't receive a callback within 15 minutes, please call again. For minor issues and routine prescription refills, wait for regular office hours to contact us.

Specialty Referrals

Many insurance plans require an in-office evaluation before we can provide a referral. Our staff will assist you with the referral process after the evaluation. For ongoing specialty care, please give us ample notice before making an appointment with the specialist.

Prescription Refills

If your child was recently treated and hasn't improved, schedule a follow-up visit for re-examination. For long-term medication refills, have the pharmacy fax a request to 858.487.0856. You can also leave a message with the nursing staff or pediatrician, including the child's name (with spelling), date of birth, medication name, current dosage instructions, and contact numbers for you and the pharmacy. Refill requests are prioritized throughout the day.

For chronic conditions like asthma, allergies, seizures, diabetes, ADHD, or long-term antibiotics, periodic office visits are required to monitor the condition before refilling prescriptions. Your child's pediatrician will discuss this during the visit.

Hospital Affiliations

We collaborate with the following hospitals:

  • Pomerado Hospital
  • Rady Children's Hospital

No pre-registration with our office is required for newborn care. Inform the labor and delivery staff at the hospital that you want our doctors to see your newborn, and we will check the baby after birth. We will also help arrange follow-up care in our office.

If your baby is born at another local hospital but will follow up with us, please obtain birth records from the attending doctor for the initial visit.
