Kuangkai Tai, M.D.

Dr. Kuangkai Tai was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, majoring in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, and pursued his medical degree and pediatric training at UC San Diego.

Dr. Tai is married and has four children. He enjoys playing tennis, is an avid biker, and actively participates in charity fundraising through his church, including past missions to Haiti to assist those in need.

Joel Traut, M.D. FAAP

Joel Traut, M.D. is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He was raised in South Florida and attended The University of Florida, where he completed his pre-medical studies and earned a Bachelor’s degree.

Subsequently, he pursued his medical degree at The Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Traut’s pediatric internship was at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, followed by a residency at Rush University, Chicago. He then completed a fellowship in the department of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at The University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

Prior to his current practice, Dr. Traut resided and practiced in Florida and Hawaii. He has since returned to San Diego, where he enjoys living with family and friends and working here again. Dr. Traut is proficient in Spanish and has recently collaborated with Homeland Security on work with immigrant minors.

In his free time, Dr. Traut engages in activities such as cooking at home and watching movies. He also enjoys cycling in Balboa Park, swimming, and visiting local beaches.

Amanda Wolfe, CPNP

Amanda Wolfe was born and raised in Poway, CA. She earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, WA, and her graduate degree as a Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of San Diego.

Amanda began her nursing career in Hematology/Oncology at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, where she worked for ten years. She is thrilled to provide care to the young patients and families of her hometown. In her free time, Amanda enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with her husband and their two children.
